
What’s really going on under the hood
We built these decorative heaters around a specific sweet spot: a 400V, 2500W halogen tube, 300mm long. That wasn’t a random pick. It’s about packing a lot of heat into a small space without things getting clunky. Running at 400V drops the current for the same wattage, which keeps the wiring simple and prevents voltage from dipping along the line. And the 300mm length? It focuses the heat where you want it, so you don’t have to overbuild the whole assembly just to get the warmth where it counts.
The materials that make it work
The halogen element sits inside a quartz envelope, not regular glass. Quartz can take the heat—literally—and handles the chemical cycle inside that keeps the element clean and stable. We add a reflector coating to push infrared energy forward, so you get directional warmth instead of heat spilling everywhere. And we use an R7s base because it’s a clean, two-contact fit that holds the tube in place and carries that full 2500W safely, without fuss.
Why it feels good in real life
These heaters wake up fast and hold their output steady. That matters when you’re working with decorative fixtures that cycle on and off. It’s also a straight swap for existing R7s systems, so you can replace a unit without rewiring the whole thing. Just one thing to keep in mind: 2500W at 400V puts out serious localized heat. You’ll want to plan clearances and airflow around the enclosure so nearby parts don’t get cooked.
