This is the only way to keep up with high-output blowing. But, and this is important, it also means the lamp and its surroundings run hotter. So, plan your machine’s cooling and airflow accordingly. You’ve got to protect the reflector and the components right next to it from overheating.
The Build: Materials, Coating, and Connections
We started with a quartz envelope, optimized to pump out that shortwave NIR. Inside, a halogen fill keeps the filament performance stable, even on those long, grueling runs. Then there’s the reflector coating. It’s specialized to direct energy forward, cutting down on wasted heat. This means more energy actually gets into the preform, and you protect nearby sensors and seals from the heat. For the installation, we use R7s bi-pin connectors. They provide a secure, high-current connection, making the lamp a true plug-and-play replacement. The base and mounting points are reinforced, too.
