It creates this harsh, blinding glare that’s not just annoying—it’s actually a problem if you’ve got a baby in the tub with sensitive eyes. We figured out a way to fix that by tweaking how the light behaves. The trick is in the filter. Instead of that bright, broad white light, we use special quartz envelopes and internal coatings to shift the energy. We push the heat into the long-wave infrared band. What does that mean for you? It means the warmth actually sinks into your skin, but those aggressive blue and UV rays—the ones that make you squint—are gone. We lose a tiny bit of brightness, sure. But in exchange, you get a soft, cozy glow that doesn’t make you want to close your eyes. What’s under the hood? Inside, there’s a tungsten filament tucked into a halogen-filled quartz tube. The halogen does the dirty work of keeping the filament clean, so the tube doesn’t turn black and gross over time. We also paired it with a wide-angle reflector. It stops those annoying “hot spots” where one part of your arm feels like it’s burning while the rest of you is freezing. The heat just spreads out evenly. A few tips for the setup You can wire these into your usual bathroom circuits, but just double-check that your housing can handle the wattage. You don’t want to accidentally melt your plastic casing. Bathrooms are brutal on electronics because of the steam. To fight that, we sealed the end-caps tight to keep moisture away from the filament. If that seal breaks, the lamp is toast.
