The nuts and bolts of the build We use high-purity quartz glass because these things take a beating with rapid heating and cooling. They’re designed as simple drop-in replacements. Whether you’re dealing with R7s or SK15 connectors, they fit perfectly. But the real secret is in the filament centering. If that filament is even slightly off-center, you get uneven heat density. That’s how you end up with bottles that have weird wall thickness. We make sure it’s dead center. A quick heads-up for the floor Getting your power matched 100% kills that “zebra stripe” effect on preforms. Your thermal soak becomes stable, which is a huge relief. Just a word of caution: running these at full rated power puts more stress on your oven’s ventilation. If your cooling fans are clogged or just too small, the oven will get too hot, and you’ll lose the benefits of the power matching. Stick to the original OEM specs when you wire them up.
