
Getting Your Husky HyPET Heating Right
If you’re running a high-speed Husky HyPET system, you already know that throwing more wattage at the problem doesn’t always work. In fact, it usually makes things worse. You end up scorching the outside of the plastic while the core stays cold. That’s where we come in. We build custom IR modules specifically to kill off those annoying “cold spots” and uneven walls that plague high-speed blowing.
How we actually get the heat inside
It all comes down to the wavelength. We use short-wave halogen tech because it just “fits” the way PET absorbs energy. By tweaking the voltage and how the filaments are packed, we push more radiant flux into the material. The result? The heat punches through the preform wall much faster. You get a consistent temperature from the top of the bottle to the bottom. No guessing games.

We designed these as simple drop-in replacements. They fit the Husky oven footprint perfectly, using high-grade quartz envelopes that can take a beating. We also use heavy-duty connectors because the last thing you need is a lamp arcing or burning out in the middle of a shift. Now, a quick heads-up. We push the power density to the limit here. It’s what makes the lines run fast, but it means your oven’s ventilation has to keep up. If your fans are clogged or just too weak, the oven gets too hot, and your lamps will die early. Keep those fans clean.
Real-world results on the floor
These are built for the 24/7 grind. Stability is everything. Once you wire these in, you’ll notice you don’t need as much “heating zone” to hit the glass transition temperature. That’s a big win.
