Stop Fighting Heat Fluctuations in Your SBF 12 and SIPA Machines
If you’re running a SIPA or Sacmi SBF 12, you know the headache of wall thickness variations. One minute everything is fine, the next you’re staring at a pile of rejected preforms. It’s frustrating. Usually, the culprit is the infrared (IR) energy distribution. If your replacement lamps aren’t a perfect match for the original OEM wattage and voltage, you end up with “cold spots” in the oven. It’s that simple. The trick is in the power. We build our lamps to mirror the exact power footprint of the SBF 12 because even a tiny mismatch messes with the heat flux. If the power is too low, the PET doesn’t hit that critical glass transition temperature in time. Too high? You’re scorching your preforms. We make sure every single lamp in the batch is consistent so your heating profiles stay flat and predictable. Built for the heat These are shortwave halogen lamps, meaning they put out a lot of intensity. To handle that, we use high-purity quartz glass. It’s tough enough to take the thermal shock of rapid cycling without cracking. As for the setup, we use standard industrial connectors. You can just wire them in. No hacking the housing, no “making it fit.” It just works. One thing to watch out for… High-density IR lamps pump out a massive amount of heat, very quickly. This puts a lot of pressure on your oven’s ventilation. Here’s the deal: if your cooling fans are clogged or acting up, these lamps will bake the surrounding reflectors. That ruins the quartz envelope and kills the lamp early. Keep your airflow clear, and your lamps will last much longer. Getting them running These are true drop-in replacements. Since the wattage matches the original spec, you don’t have to spend hours messing with your PLC settings. Just swap them out, double-check the alignment, run a few test samples, and you’re back in business.
